Southwestern Oregon Workforce Investment Board
The Southwestern Oregon Workforce Investment Board is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Coos, Curry and Douglas Counties.
SOWIB makes collaborative, innovative and effective investments of private and public resources to improve regional workforce skills, expand access to family-sustaining job opportunities, and enhance adaptability in a changing employment landscape.
Through private grants, donations, and public funding we create job training, skill upgrade, apprenticeship and internship opportunities, focusing on employment benefiting the individual and the community.
Their work is guided by data and the perspectives of a wide variety of regional employers, economic development groups, local educators, and local governments. Similar values and goals guide our oversight of regional implementation of government-funded workforce programs and services.

The Small Business Development Center at Southwestern Oregon Community College is located on the southern Oregon coast and cover Coos, Curry and western Douglas counties from the coastal mountain range to the Pacific Ocean.
Their mission is to strengthen and support an entrepreneurial culture. They do this through dedicated service to businesses that help our communities thrive.
Their advising and trainings cover a broad range of business topics, from starting a business to developing an exit strategy. Clients receive resources and tools, including market research, financial analysis, and business planning.
